Eric Trump has sat down for a world exclusive interview with Erin Molan, telling her about the horror he felt watching TV as his dad Donald got shot at a campaign rally.
Donald Trump’s son has revealed the moment he and his young children watched on as the presidential candidate was shot in an assassination attempt.
Eric Trump, along with wife Lara, have taken part in a world exclusive sit-down interview with Sky News presenter Erin Molan for a special titled Erin Meets The Trumps.
“They pretty much almost saw their grandfather almost get assassinated on live TV,” Trump, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organisation, told Molan in the special to air tonight at 10pm.
“At a young age sitting on our lap on a beautiful afternoon, you went from sadness, hurt to pure anger in a very short period of time.”
Molan interviewed the couple at the family’s Florida country club, Mar-a-Lago.
The couple spoke of how the assassination attempt at a rally in July shook the entire Trump family, while sharing intimate details on what the former US president is like as a father, and grandfather to their four and six-year-old children, Carolina and Luke.
Lara Trump is Republican National Committee Co-Chair and a close confidante and adviser to the former, and perhaps future, president.
“I always say that Donald Trump was made for such a time as this and I think that after July 13th, what he realised is there is a bit of a divine nature to this,” she said.
“I don’t think you would have a conversation with Donald Trump right now and have him not tell you that it was God that saved his life. That he is only here today by the grace of God.”
Eric predicted his father will win the election against Kamala Harris in November and described it as “the greatest comeback”.
“He is hellbent on the mission and the one thing that I will say is that stubbornness is beautiful, you know,” he said.
“His entire career was kind of built off of the back of being stubborn and having a backbone and being, you know, non-politically correct. Once he sets his eyes on something, he goes for it. And he’s relentless in that pursuit, and I think that’s a beautiful thing.
“Trust me, the last thing that our family needs to be doing is getting shot at every single day, having systems get weaponised against you, being attacked ruthlessly, having the press go after you.
“My father was impeached twice, he won both times.
“There were dirty dossiers made up that were totally phony, everybody knows that story, Russian collusion. I mean, we don’t know anybody in Russia … we’ve been attacked every single day.
“My father does it because he cares about America.”
